The unique equipment manufactured by Volgogradneftemash is installed at Omsk Refinery

The lifting and installation of oversized equipment manufactured by JSC Volgogradneftemash was performed at AO Gazpromneft-ONPZ. Two coke chambers weighing 600 tons each and a 50-meter fractionation column weighing 300 tons will be used on a delayed coking unit, which is one of the largest facilities of this type in Russia. The assembled equipment will provide the recovery from flux and other types of black oil of the demanded light petroleum products as well as coke used as raw material in the production of electrodes for the aluminum industry.

The equipment is manufactured according to the basic designs of the engineering companies Foster Wheeler and Technip in accordance with the hardest requirements of Russian and international standards under constant control of the customer. Such equipment was produced in Russia for the first time. Especially, coke chambers with a diameter of 9.3 meters, and length of 36 meters were made of bimetallic chrome-molybdenum steel. Due to their huge overall dimensions their heat treatment was carried out using the technology of second heating. And because the testing of the equipment was carried out on the customer"s site, specialists of Volgogradneftemash organized pneumatic tests by the acoustic emission method.

From Volgograd to Omsk the equipment covered a long way at first up the Volga River, then through the Baltic, the Northern and the Norwegian Seas, partly down the Northern Sea Route, and at the final stage down the Ob and Irtysh.
